Put your statement next to ours, line by line.

Enter what you are charged today and this works out the same month on our pricing — every fee itemised, interchange shown on both sides because it is identical either way, and the total at the bottom. If you are already cheaper than us, it says so.

Nothing you enter is stored · No account needed · About three minutes with a statement in front of you

Your statement, itemised

You only need the first two boxes to get an answer. Every fee you add after that makes it sharper — and the recurring ones are usually where the money is hiding.

The two that matter

Total card sales in a typical month, before refunds.

How many card sales, not the dollar amount.

If yes, the comparison is exact. If no, we estimate interchange and label the result an estimate.

Now add whatever you can read off the statement. Skip anything you cannot find — a blank is treated as zero, never guessed.

Rates on your volume10

The percentages — and the interchange line in dollars, if your statement itemises it. Leave interchange blank otherwise; most statements do not show it.

The headline percentage on your statement — often shown as "qualified" or a blended rate.

The interchange dollar total for the month, exactly as the statement prints it. Set by the card networks — identical for every provider, including us.

Leave blank if Amex is inside your main rate.

Amex network or program charges billed on top of the rate.

Visa’s per-transaction network access fee. Set by Visa, charged by everyone.

Mastercard’s per-transaction access fee. Set by Mastercard, charged by everyone.

Discover’s per-transaction access fee. Set by Discover, charged by everyone.

Visa’s percentage assessment on volume. Identical with any provider.

Mastercard’s percentage assessment on volume. Identical with any provider.

Discover’s percentage assessment on volume. Identical with any provider.

Per-transaction and per-batch6

The per-item lines. These are what decide a small-ticket month.

Charged every time a card is authorised, whether or not the sale completes.

Often shown next to the discount rate, e.g. "+ 10¢".

Applies to debit transactions only.

Charged each time you close out — usually once a day.

Charged per address check, typically on keyed or online sales.

Amex charges its own per-transaction fee, usually higher than the card brands.

Monthly recurring8

The recurring charges. On our account every one of these is $0, so anything you enter here is a straight saving.

Sometimes called a service, support or customer-service fee.

A fee for producing the statement you are reading.

Monthly PCI charge. If yours is billed annually, put it in the annual box instead.

Charged when a self-assessment questionnaire has lapsed. Very common and easy to miss.

For online or keyed payments.

A shortfall charge when your processing does not reach a set floor.

NABU, APF, network access, IRS reporting — the small recurring lines.

For terminals on a cellular connection.

Annual1

Anything billed once a year. We divide it by twelve so the month compares like for like.

Any once-a-year charge, including an annual PCI fee.

When something goes wrong2

Only if you had any last month.

Per disputed transaction.

Per request for a copy of a receipt.

Equipment1

Entered so the picture is complete. It is NOT counted as a saving — see why below.

Often the single largest line, and usually on a separate non-cancellable contract. We do not replace this — see the note below.

Nothing here is stored. The figures go to our server, the comparison is worked out and returned, and that is the end of it — there is no database behind this tool and no record survives the page. We do not ask for your name, your business or your email to run it.

Your comparison will appear here

Fill in the volume and transaction count and press the button. Everything else is optional and only sharpens the answer.

This compares processor markup and monthly fees only. Interchange and card-brand assessments are set by the card networks, apply equally to all providers, and are not included.

What this tool will not do

It will not count your equipment lease as a saving

A lease is a separate agreement with a leasing company, and switching processor does not end it. It is shown on both sides so the picture is complete, and it contributes nothing to the difference. Anyone who tells you they can cancel it is selling.

It will not pretend an estimate is exact

If your statement bundles interchange into one blended rate — most do — the split between the wholesale cost and your provider’s margin has to be estimated, and the result says so. We estimate interchange on the low side. It cannot flatter the comparison either way: interchange is charged identically by every provider, so the tool holds it aside on both sides and your provider’s markup — the number the comparison turns on — is the same whatever we estimate.

It will not tell you to switch when you should not

If your current pricing is already at or below ours, the result says that plainly. We would rather lose the application than win it on a number that does not survive your first statement with us.

It will not keep your statement

There is no database behind this tool. The arithmetic runs and the figures are gone.

Bring the numbers to an application.

If the comparison is worth acting on, the application carries your volume and ticket across so you are not typing them twice. Approval and final pricing are the processor’s decision, not ours.

Applying carries no obligation. Underwriting, approval and final rates are determined by the processor.
